The former convent attached to San Paolino Church is located in the historic centre of Florence. Presumably founded in the 11th century the complex had various rebuildings and restoration works till its present form: it was rebuilt in the 18th century, remodeled in 800 and expanded in the 1950s.

Until 2007 housed the offices, depositories, safes and storage of the Loans Company of Florence Savings Bank (Monte di Pietà).
The complex have an overall surface area of about 11,500 square meters divided into 3 structures. The restoration project comprises the construction of a hotel with 173 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a lobby, a meeting room and an underground car park.
