Built for Expo Milan 2015 the Irish pavilion reflects the country’s cultural, historical and social identity. With its shape lead the visitors from the main path to an intimate and welcoming place. The Pavilion looks like a large sail on a water basin, with a curved wall made of horizontal wooden fins that provide sun shading as well as define the exhibition area. Behind the wall, two separate rectangular volumes, each consisting of three floors, host the exhibition spaces. Open-air events took place in the hanging garden on the roof.
